Ryan Leisure Receives Several Post Season Awards

Ryan Leisure continues to roll in the post season awards for his wrestling and academic success.

Ryan recently attended the Dan Gable Mr. Wrestler of the Year Award banquet in Des Moines as one of the nine finalists for the award.

He was also recognized on the 2017 Scholastic All-American team. This team is selected each year based on success on the mat and in the classroom. Ryan was one of four finalists in the state of Iowa, among the 125 wrestlers across the nation to be honored.

In the FloWrestling publication, a well-renowned wrestling source, Ryan was one of the top 100 seniors in the nation, ranked 95th.

Ryan was selected as the Iowa recipient of the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award. This is a national award given annually to high school seniors based on their excellence in wrestling, scholastic achievement, citizenship and community service. This award was established in 1996 to honor Olympic and World Champion Dave Schultz.

Additionally, Ryan was recently honored as the KIMT Male Athlete of the Year.
