On November 4, 2017, the Clear Lake High School competition Cheer Squad, consisting of 12 girls in grades nine through 12, competed in the Iowa Cheerleading State Championships at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Jacobson Building in Des Moines, Iowa. Even as one of the smallest teams in the class 3A competition, playing against schools all over the state, the girls gave it their all and came home with a seventh place finish out of 11 schools.

Coaches Rachel Rolling and Cat Aragon-Bauer thank everyone for their support. The 2017 competition squad includes seniors Hannah Reick and Halie Westendorf, juniors Ashley Archer, Olivia Amos, and Erin Carew, sophomores Gabi Gonzalez Mckribben, Amanda Setterholm, Olivia Larsen, and Kennedy Kallenbach, and freshmen Val Campos and Ruby Topete.
