Clear Lake Middle School Safety Issue – Threat Managed

In Alerts, District News, Middle School by Clear Lake Community School District

To Parents of 6-8th grade students:

This morning, district administration was made aware of a possible threat made by one of our students. Mr. Ludwig, Mr. Murphy, a Clear Lake police officer, and myself were all involved in investigating the situation. After a thorough investigation, we determined that there was not a viable threat.  We then met with all of the 6th grade students to talk with them and reassure them that they were safe.

I would like to assure you that student safety is always our number one priority. When we receive information about the possibility of a threat, our role is to respond immediately and thoroughly investigate. I want to also assure you that if at any time we believe your son or daughter is in danger we will follow our crisis response procedures and notify you as quickly as possible. Thankfully, this situation did not warrant that type of response.

Should you have questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

Best,

Doug Gee

Superintendent of Schools
