The Clear Lake Community School District promotes healthy students by supporting good nutrition and wellness as a part of the total learning environment, where students learn and participate in positive dietary and lifestyle practices. By facilitating learning through supporting and promoting good nutrition and physical activity, we contribute to students' essential health. Improved health optimizes student performance potential!
Meals served through our breakfast and lunch programs will:
- Be appealing and attractive to children
- Be served in clean and pleasant settings.
- Meet, at a minimum, nutrition requirements established by law.
- Offer a variety of fruits and vegetables.
- Serve only low-fat (1%), fat-free milk and nutritionally acceptable alternatives.
- Increase servings of whole grain.
Clear Lake Community School District provides a comprehensive learning environment for developing and practicing lifelong wellness behaviors. The entire school environment, not just the classroom, aligns with healthy district goals, positively influencing students' understanding and habits related to wellness. We support, promote, and meet nutrition requirements set by the local, state, and federal government. We serve food with consideration toward nutritional integrity, variety, appeal, taste, safety, and packaging to ensure high-quality meals.
