Welcome!
The Clear Lake Community School District promotes healthy students by supporting good nutrition and wellness as a part of the total learning environment, where students learn and participate in positive dietary and lifestyle practices. By facilitating learning through the support and promotion of good nutrition and physical activity, we contribute to the basic health of students. Improved health optimizes student performance potential.
Meals served through our lunch and breakfast programs will:
- Be appealing and attractive to children.
- Be served in clean and pleasant settings.
- Meet, at a minimum, nutrition requirements established by law.
- Offer a variety of fruits and vegetables.
- Serve only low-fat (1%) and fat-free milk and nutritionally acceptable alternatives.
- Increase servings of whole grain.
Clear Lake provides a comprehensive learning environment for developing and practicing lifelong wellness behaviors. The entire school environment, not just the classroom, aligns with healthy district goals, positively influencing students' understanding and habits as they relate to wellness. We support and promote proper dietary habits contributing to students' health status and academic performance, endeavoring to meet and exceed nutrition standards set by the local, state, and federal government, serving food with consideration toward nutritional integrity, variety, appeal, taste, safety, and packaging to ensure high-quality meals.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
