Each scholarship awarded will be in the amount of $500. 

Mr. Lobdell was a science teacher at Clear Lake High School who tragically passed away on September 18, 2011. 

Eligibility and Basis of Award:

• Must be a member of the Clear Lake High School golf team
• Demonstrated leadership and sportsmanship on and off the golf course
• Have a 2.5 GPA or higher

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to one male and one female each year. 

The Pleggenkuhle family has established this scholarship in memory of Cade, a Clear Lake High School Alumni in the Class of 1999.
 

• The applicant must pursue post-secondary education at a two-year or four-year educational or vocational institution.
• The applicant must have maintained a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.

This scholarship recognizes the importance of community service and is awarded to those individuals who have excelled in this area. At the same time, this scholarship recognizes those who might not otherwise receive one or more scholarships and that it might be the only such recognition its recipient receives.

Immediate family members of the Clear Lake Noon Lions are not eligible for this scholarship.

• Possess a reputation of showing academic promise
• Rank in the upper two-thirds of your class
• Have excellent moral and ethical characteristics
• Show evidence of good citizenship in school, church, and community
• Evidence of the possession and cultivation of leadership, responsibility, integrity, and emotional stability

Annually, the Clear Lake Community Schools Foundation will award 10 scholarships in the amount of $2,500 to selected seniors who will graduate from Clear Lake High School. 

• Citizen of the United States of America
• Must be of good school citizenship and good moral character
• Recipient shall have demonstrated outstanding leadership in athletics while participating in at least two school-sponsored sports and have obtained a varsity letter in at least one sport
• Recipient shall demonstrate above-average academic success

No due date has been provided for this scholarship.

There is no application form for this scholarship. Counselors and the Activities Director submit a list of qualified individuals.

One $1,000 scholarship, plus each winner’s name will be engraved on an award plaque which is located in the high school trophy case.

• Must pursue a four year degree at an accredited college or university after graduating from Clear Lake High School

• Must graduate from high school in the Clear Lake Community School District during the year of selection
• Recipient must reside in the District for at least 2 years prior to graduation
• Must not have been convicted of a felony or have a criminal record
• Must be ranked in the upper half of the graduating class

One award each year, with the amount dependent upon the earnings gained from the investment of the bequest by the Clear Lake Community Schools.

 Selection will be completed by a committee consisting of an English teacher, history teacher, high school counselor, high school administrator, Marcia A. Connell, and Janet A. Connell Lovell.

The award recipient's name shall be engraved on an Esther Woodford Ashland award plaque and it will hang in the Clear Lake High School commons.

Candidates are nominated by the Clear Lake High School wrestling coaching staff. The final decision is made by the Mitch Melhus Scholarship Committee.

The Oluf T. Hansen Memorial Scholarship has been established by the family to be awarded to graduating seniors from Clear Lake High School.

• 2.5 GPA or above
• The recipient must be accepted at an accredited trade school, community college, or 4-year college of her choice before receiving the money
• The recipient must be a graduating senior girl from Clear Lake High School

Up to ten $2,500 scholarships renewable for one year after high school.

This scholarship was established by Elizabeth Thurtle to honor her family. The Committee’s decisions are final.
