Middle School Band actually starts in 5th grade! In 5th grade, students select an instrument at the beginning of the year with the help of the instructor. Fifth graders learn how to play their chosen instrument, how to work with others in an ensemble, and get the opportunity to make music together. Once 5th graders move on to 6th grade, they have a solid year of experience on their chosen instrument. Band students have weekly lessons and rehearse in the full ensemble every other day. Several band concerts and events are held throughout the school year.
